Do you know any of these people?
If you've heard their stories, then you've heard their lies...
This website shares the unbelievable story of how a young couple (the Becks), eager to help their grandfather in trouble, bought a very old run down home for their grandfather (Leol Corson) who couldn't afford his bills. They even provided a written contract to Leol that he could stay in his home forever without ever paying on the mortgage.
Only a few months later, Leol Corson was coerced by his sons into suing the only family members that were willing and able to help him, the Becks!
How can this be possible? The state of Maine has a unique law called the Improvident Transfer of Title Act. You've heard the term "innocent until proven guilty" right? Beware! This legal loophole allows the exact opposite! This law presumes that you're in the wrong until you can prove otherwise.
Read more about this rare Maine law here.
Why would Leol do this? He thought he had a perfect recipe for retaliation: Use a FREE legal service offered to the elderly, lie about the events to your own attorney, convince other family members to join in on the lies, and then twist these lies into a made up lawsuit that is meant to scare them into submission!
Fortunately our courts are created on truth and justice. We owe a gigantic THANK YOU to the enormous outpouring and support from our friends and family members, and our amazing legal team at Powers and French who helped us through 4 grueling years of legal dispute to finally cross this finish line and prove our innocence.
Leol Corson, John Corson, Joseph Corson, Jayson Corson, and Kerstin Corson lost their pretend lawsuit. But things are far from over. All information from our trial is now public record, and we now have an opportunity to share the truth, details discovered from our experiences, and caution others so this situation never happens to anyone else.

This is the house we bought for Leol... hardly a prize property!
Let's highlight some of the lies told throughout this lawsuit:
John Corson falsely stated under oath that his father “asked him to leave”. Court testimony and evidence show that John and his brother Joseph both left Leol suddenly and unexpectedly in Oct of 2016, and left Leol without food, the means to pay his bills, or travel to doctor appointments. Later, John tried to avoid testifying by providing a "doctor's note" in an attempt to excuse him from attending (which failed).
Leol Corson lied about meeting with his long-time attorney, Jim Gallagher of Gallagher, Villeneuve and DeGeer in Damariscotta Maine. Mr. Gallagher stated in his affidavit that he “provided no counsel” to his client of 40 years, even though court records showed he met with Leol multiple times including in the presence of two family members and discussed the purchase of his home to the Becks in order to safeguard Leol from further harm.
Jayson Corson and his wife Kerstin stated they moved down to Bristol because no one else could care for Leol. Court records and evidence demonstrate they ASKED to live there, did so without paying any rent, and their motivation for moving back to Bristol was largely to be closer to their child Katie Corson and Grandson Jayson Benner.
Leol Corson, Jayson Corson and his wife Kerstin accused their niece Jill of forcing her grandfather Leol Corson out of his own home. Ironically, Jill was the only family helping Leol by providing a contract with her obligation to pay the mortgage while Leol could live for free in the home for his lifetime. Jim Gallagher of Gallagher, Villeneuve and DeGeer drafted, signed, and acknowledged this “Living Arrangement Agreement”.
Jayson Corson and his wife Kerstin seem to have coerced their father into leaving his home, instead buying a home and a vehicle for THEM to use, and voiding his right to a free place to stay. Instead Leol, Jayson, and Kerstin moved into a 1970’s single wide trailer at Pemaquid Coop together. By choice.
John Corson tried desperately to avoid having to testify about his own actions, or those of his family - especially his father. In fact, when court ordered to appear for a deposition, John flatly refused to show up and in exchange tried to offer up a doctor's note as an excuse from testifying as to the truth of what happened.
Leol’s newly found free attorney, Denis Culley, accused Leol’s granddaughter and husband that they somehow tricked Leol Corson. Court records however illustrate the transaction was done out of care and concern for Leol, but also could have been financially advantageous to him had he decided to stay.
Mr. Culley has presented many webinar’s listing “Shadow Clients” as someone who exacts revenge against other family members through the elderly individual. It was increasingly clear as we prepared for trial that Jayson Corson and Kerstin Corson were behind the claim as a way to “punish” the Beck’s for asking Jayson and Kerstin to leave. Mr. Culley DID NOTHING despite his knowledge of shadow clients.
Since the trial, both Jayson and Kerstin have abandoned their father Leol Corson and have since moved out, leaving him in the care of the same sons - John Corson and Joseph Corson who very people who created Leol's plight in 2016! 2020 UPDATE: It now appears that John Corson has taken his father Leol to a nursing home, after deceiving Leol that he was being taken to a doctor's appointment!
